Dear Mr. Goldstein,
I normally don’t write more than one letter a day, but I think this is a very special circumstance. I am also very aware that you have been dead for 29 years, but I know this will reach you, one way or the other.
That said, I must ask the all important question….Is Yacht Rock REALLY coming back for an 11th episode? Your MySpace blog is telling me that the Hollywood Steve intro has already been shot, so I can only assume that my favorite online series is being resurrected. This brings me more joy than I think you will ever know!
You see, I was sort of late for the bus when it came to Yacht Rock and the existence of Channel 101. A friend and I stumbled across your humble little show by sheer accident about three months ago and we both immediately became transfixed with it, telling every single person we knew that they just HAD to see this awesome online show that follows the adventures of Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan and other “Yacht Rockers.” We watched the episodes repeatedly, laughing over such classic lines as “Fuck you Loggins!” and “That’s what a FOOL believes Kenny…it’s what a fool believes!” even going so far as to purchase captain hats and Hawaiian shirts in order to emulate our favorite Yacht Rock god for Halloween this year. However, the last episode left a lot of loose ends open and we’ve been begging for more.
This is why I’m so excited to hear that there will be another installment on its way soon. I hoping this episode will “out” Michael McDonald as just another 80’s soundtrack guy. (Who can forget “Sweet Freedom?”)
